Denpasar
Located in the northeast of Kuta, Denpasar is a parish capital with
an aristocratic history. Formerly a market city, Denpasar has grown
to be a metropolis city. A variety of attractions from historical
memorial to art center can be found in Denpasar. As the capital
city of Bali, Denpasar has been a focus of development although
it still retains pleasant environment.
The
Bali Museum consists of a charming series of separate buildings,
including models of both palace and temple structural design. There
are various arts, crafts and other items to display, while Abiankapas
is the arts center with collection of modern painting and woodcarving.
Abiankapas is also a location where traditional dances and gamelan
performances take place.
Gianyar
Gianyar is the rich artistic district and has given Bali much of
its character as a heart of vision. The specialty of this area is
woven kain endek used in customary wear.
Gilimanuk
Gilimanuk plays its role as a west seaport of Bali. Daily ferry
service (Bali - Java) are run. It also offers a beautiful view from
the busy harbor.
Gitgit
Gitgit is a waterfall that flow vigorously especially during the
rainy season.
Goa
Gajah
The Elephant Cave is a representative of culture and history preservation
in the island of Bali. Previously, it was a set of buildings structure
used for prayer as well as for meditation and austere practices.
Structurally
interesting, the entry of the cave appears to be framed by a stunning
relief where animals and plants figures are tangled.
The
whole complex is completely conserved. Almost certainly, it is there
that the faithful went to wash their hands and face before retreating
to meditate.
Goa
Lawah
The Goa Lawah Temple or the Bat Cave name comes from the fact that
this well-built blessed complex rises right facing a cave where
factually thousands of bats hang serenely from its walls, slumbering
until the time comes to take off in fight, normally at night, to
go look for good.
Gunung
Kawi
Sitting in a beautiful panoramic setting, Gunung Kawi is visited
not only for the lush natural setting but also for the monuments
that stand out as a symbol of culture.
The
Gunung Kawi sanctuary is still used today for ritual ceremonies
and the local population gathers here periodically to offer the
usual gifts, to pay homage to the ancient king and his family, and
to pray the gods.
A set
of buildings of rock temples is grouped in three locations. There
are 10 temples in this area.
